Day 260 – Making up for a lost day…

After not being able to take a picture the day before, this afternoon I went out to Marbury Park with hubby for a long walk. We went there a little earlier so we wouldn’t get attacked by midges. It was a lovely afternoon, weather was still very nice and it stayed warm until we were on our way home. I took lots of pictures, it was very hard choosing one so I’ve asked for hubby’s help and he chose today’s picture. πŸ™‚

Day 247 – Summer Midges

On this evening, hubby and I decided to go for a walk in order to have a break from packing. We made our way to Marbury Park, I took a few pictures by the canal and then we continued walking. Disappointingly we didn’t get very far as the midges started attacking us. We only got as far as the nearest path before we decided to turn around and walk run as fast as we could! Here is a picture I took as we go to one of the park’s paths.

Day 228 – Wildflowers

This day hubby and I went for a walk around the park near the Anderton Boat Lift. It was a very dark day but these beautiful flowers lifted the mood of a gloomy day.

Day 188 – Springtime Forest

Last Sunday we arrived to Cheshire around mid afternoon. It was a pretty spring day and decided to make our way to Marbury. We walked around the forest part of Marbury for over three hours and I took about 100 pictures, everything looked so beautiful, especially the trees and flowers.

It was very difficult to choose a picture for this day but here is my favourite.

Also, I tried to do a self-portrait, I love taking pictures but I really hate getting my picture taken. I always feel very self-conscious and not sure how to pose or what to do. Anyway, I am really glad I look very small compared to the very tall trees πŸ™‚

Day 170 – Cherry Blossom Trees

Last Wednesday we went for a short walk around the grounds of where Marbury Hall used to be. The Cherry Blossom trees were in full bloom, their petals had cover some of the grass and it looked very pretty πŸ™‚

Day 158 – A Different Path

On Day 158, hubby and I went for walk to our favourite country park. We didn’t get there until the sun had set and the skies were getting dark. We took a different path; we went uphill and got a different view of Winnington Works.

Day 142 – Marbury Hall

Yesterday hubby and I went for a walk to Marbury Park. We walked around where Marbury Hall used to be. The house was demolished in 1968 after it deteriorated over the years. It saddens me when buildings with lots of history are destroyed; all that history that the house held is now lost. All that remains now are just a few pictures and an empty plot.

Marbury state is a country Park now and although a great part of its history has been lost, we get to enjoy that beauty of the park with all its wildlife around.

Day 120 – After the Sunset

Hubby took this whole week off to paint the doors around our house. The smell of paint was very strong so we went out for a long walk just so we could get some fresh air. We went to Marbury Park and I took a few pictures while we were there.

Day 102 – Ducks on the Mere

I have had a very busy weekend and I apologize for the lack of posts in the last few days. I left work early on Friday as I was due to make my way to Ely, Cambridgeshire for a friends surprise party. Before we made our way there I had a bit time to go to Budworth Mere to take some pictures of the ducks.

We left for Ely at around 3pm and arrived four hours later. We had dinner at the hotel we were staying at and then went to surprise our friend. He works at a local nightclub and we all showed up there at around ten. He was very happy and pleased to see us. We had a fantastic night!

My pictures for Friday are of the ducks on the mere.
