The picture below was taken on our way back to our hotel in our last day in Venice. We both struggled with the weather, it was hard walking and taking pictures was even more. I spent most of the time tired and taking lots of breaks, think my pictures show it. The amount of effort put into them was very little; therefore the amount of good pictures from these two days are just a few.
It has been over a week since my last post and a lot has happened since then. We sold our house a couple of months ago and in the last few weeks we have been looking for a new home and trying to sort out a new mortgage. Last Friday we moved out of our house and have temporarily moved to a friend’s house until our new home is ready. We do not have broadband in our temporary home so there won’t be many posts from me until we move to our new house. We hope to move in the first week in September (as long as everything goes well and we don’t have any more set backs). It has been very stressful the last couple of weeks but hopefully it is all coming to an end.
Anyway back to day 223, it was our last day in Italy and looking back at the very few pictures I took on the day, it brings some lovely memories back. In our last we went around the shops and bought some souvenirs to bring back home. Here is one of the very few pictures I took on the day.
Our last Saturday in Italy was amazing! We spent the day walking around Milan, visiting the Cathedral and visiting all the shops. In the evening we made our way to the San Siro Stadium for a concert I had been wanting to go since I was a teenager. It was a great evening and both of us had a fantastic night 🙂
In our last day in Rome we went to see the Pantheon before making our way to the train station. Our train set off at noon and arrived in Milan at 5pm. The rest of the afternoon we relaxed in the hotel’s spa and had an amazing dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Here is the photo for day 221.
Rome was very different to what I was expecting it to be like. It was a bit of a shock after spending a few days in quiet Florence. Rome is bigger, noisier, more busy and to be honest I was not very fond of it at the beginning. It took me a couple of days to get used to it and be able to appreciate its beauty. In our first day we didn’t do much and the picture below is my favourite of the day.
Florence was by far my favourite city in Italy. We were there three days and wish we had more time. As we walked around the city, it just kept on surprising me with something new and beautiful; the buildings, streets, bridges, the art and even the Gelato we had there was delicious! It was very hard to choose one picture and I think the picture I chose at the end summarizes its beauty. Somehow even a sunset looks more beautiful in Florence.
