Below are my favourite Instagram pictures of the past week. On Sunday we went for a meal with hubby’s brother and his girlfriend. It was the first time the four of us got together and had a good chat. We also bought some Daffodils, I am surprised to see them in the shops so early in the year. They are so pretty and lift the mood of the house in these grey winter days.
We are getting our floors fitted this weekend and are super exited! Can’t wait to see it all finished as it is one of the last big things we are getting done in the cottage for the time being. What plans do you have for this weekend? Do you have any exiting news to share?
Hope you all have had a fantastic week!
Lots of pictures of food! Below is a picture of another Peruvian dish, the dish is called Arroz Chaufa. We have quite a few dishes in Peru with Chinese influence. It is very similar to Stir Fried Rice but it has a few different ingredients, like spring onions, egg omelette, chicken and peppers. It is easy and fast to make.
On this Sunday hubby made dinner while I was in charge of preparing the dessert. It was my first attempt at making an apple pie. I have done other desserts and cakes before but never a pie. The process took most of the afternoon, starting with making the pastry from scratch to waiting for it to cook. I wish I had taken it out of the oven a few minutes earlier though, as it was slightly too toasted on the outside. As always hubby’s roast was simply amazing!
Here is my picture for day 312, hubby’s delicious Sunday Roast.
…and here is a picture of my pie!
As I mentioned to you before, hubby has become a pro at cooking roasts. Here is an example of one of his roasts; there is some work still needed to be done with his presentation but it doesn’t really matter because the taste makes up for it. And the presentation only matters when I need to photograph one of his dishes 🙂
There are only 15 days left until the end of my Project 365. I am running behind by 66 days! I really hope I can catch up and be up to date by the time my project comes to an end. I have worked out that I will need to do 6 posts a day if I want to finish on time. So far… not so good as I am only going to be doing four tonight! I hope I’ll be able to catch up this weekend as I have no other plans but to work on my blogging.
So here it is Day 284! A lovely Egg Custard bought at The Artisan Market in Knutsford. Delicious!! 🙂
Paella is my favourite Spanish dish. I had this delicious dish when we went to Etruria, a Mediterranean restaurant in Knutsford. It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside and enjoyed the last of the summer weather. The drinks and food were great, we both had a fab time!
Hubby’s cooking skills have improved over the last eight years. Lamb Sunday Roast is probably his best dish with the meat being juicy and tender. His other specialties are slow roasts and Indian curries. The dish pictured below is pan-fried trout with asparagus and boiled veggies, it was very delicious!
This Sunday we went for a meal out and we had some lovely tapas at a lovely restaurant in Chester. It is the second time we have visited this restaurant and have to say the food is delicious. Here is a photo of some meatballs 🙂
Hope you all have had a good week!
Peru’s Independence Day is on the 28th of July but because this fell on a Sunday, the party was held on the 27th. I spent the 28th of July on my own as hubby had gone to Cambridge to visit some friends and I spent the day eating tamales (shredded chicken or pork covered in a corn-based dough and all wrapped in banana leaves) and talking to my family on Skype. It was raining most of the day so I only dared going as far as to my garden to take some pictures. Below is my picture for the day and also a picture of a Tamal! 🙂
and here is a picture of a Tamal 🙂
On this day hubby and I went for a meal out to celebrate our wedding anniversary (16th July). We went to the Bells of Peover as we had a great time in our previous visit to the restaurant (view post here). The menu had changed but everything was still very delicious. Hubby had the Pan Fried Sea Trout as main (pictured below) while I went for the Paella. We have been to Bells of Peover twice now and everything has been great so we have decided to booked it for our Christmas Meal. Fourteen of us are going this year and I am very much looking forward to it. 🙂
