It is again that day in the week in which I get to reminisce about the adventures that hubby and I have had the pleasure to share together. We both love travelling and love seeing new countries and learning about new cultures. Wish I could say I have seen and experienced as many countries as he has but sadly I haven’t . He took a year off work and decided to travel around the world. Okay, he didn’t see all the countries around the world but he managed to see a few countries in Asia, Australia and South America. I hope one day to visit all those countries too!
We went to Morocco a few years ago and although I got very sick towards the end of our stay; I enjoyed every minute we spent there. Morocco is a beautiful country and we had so much fun. For me the highlight of our stay was spending the night in the dessert. I had never seen so many stars in the sky, we sat by a campfire while hearing our hosts play some music. It was a very unique and unforgettable experience.
Today I am sharing a picture I took right before I got back on my camel after stopping to see the sunrise. Amazing!
I had always wanted to have a go at baking a pumpkin pie. The first time I tasted one was a few years ago when I lived in Utah. My host mother had baked lots of pies for Thanksgiving, the pumpkin and banana ones were my favourite. I like making things from scratch and this pie wasn’t going to be any different. I made my own pastry and also did the filling myself. For my first attempt at baking one, it turned out okay. Hubby loved it! He ate most of it 🙂
On this Saturday the entire family went for a meal out to celebrate my in-laws wedding anniversary. Their marriage is an example for us and hope one we day we will also be able celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary. The photo below is of my dessert, Waffles and Ice cream. Yum!
There are only 15 days left until the end of my Project 365. I am running behind by 66 days! I really hope I can catch up and be up to date by the time my project comes to an end. I have worked out that I will need to do 6 posts a day if I want to finish on time. So far… not so good as I am only going to be doing four tonight! I hope I’ll be able to catch up this weekend as I have no other plans but to work on my blogging.
So here it is Day 284! A lovely Egg Custard bought at The Artisan Market in Knutsford. Delicious!! 🙂
Last Tuesday I attempted making a dessert for the first time in a very long time. I have been so busy lately that all the cooking has been done by my lovely husband. The desert I made was Raspberry Eton Mess. It was very easy to make and once I found the lid for my food mixer, it was complete in only a few minutes. (I tried whisking by hand but after nearly half an hour, I hadn’t gotten very far!)
I found the recipe online and if you fancy having a go click here.
As you may have noticed, I have a sweet tooth. Since I started Project 365, I have been taking pictures of some of my favourite desserts and that list wouldn’t be complete without my favourite Crème Brûlée. I have to admit, I only attempted making it once. It was a few years ago, I wasn’t the nicest I had ever tried but it wasn’t one of the worst either. The one below was bought and hubby kindly added some brown sugar and put it under the grill for me. It was very tasty.
