Last Thursday hubby and I spent the afternoon tidying up the garden. Over the last couple of weeks everything has gone a little wild. Here is another flower we have in our garden, sadly the slugs got to it first.
Today’s picture is of the princess of the house…it’s not me.
Penguin, our cat, in her favourite spot. We have the central heating behind our fireplace and whenever the heating or the fire is on Penguin is there. She could lay there for hours without moving unless it is to get some food. She reminds me a lot of Garfield except for the lasagne eating, she prefers chicken or fish.
There was an amazing sunset this afternoon and saw it disappear as I was driving home. I was hoping to get home in time to take a few snaps but roads were busy and by the time I got home it was all gone. It’s very frustrating that in days like these I always forget to take my camera with me. I took a picture with my iPhone as I was leaving work but it didn’t turn out colourful as the skies were.
I did not do anything productive this afternoon. I had dinner with hubby after I got in from work. Took a two-hour nap and woke up just in time to take some pictures. Penguin was my subject for today.
I don’t think I have introduced you to this little princess. Penguin is our ginger cat. We found her around 7 years ago in a rainy day as we were walking home from our local pub. She was drinking from a tin can and was soaking wet. Hubby grabbed her and wrapped her inside his jumper. We took her home to give her some food and dry her. When the rain stopped, we let her out so she could go back to her home.
We did not see her again for two days and then she returned to us. She appeared at our door and has been with us ever since. We took her to the vets a few days later and checked for a microchip which she didn’t have. We told the vets if anyone reported her missing to contact us. We think she was stray as we never heard from anyone.
She is our little princess. She loves being pampered and loves warm comfy places. My picture today is of our ginger cat Penguin.
Bilbo is my husband’s family cat. She is a 19-year-old Tortoise Shell. She was rescued as a little kitten and has been with the family ever since. She was quite poorly recently and they thought they were going to lose her but she has beaten all the odds and is still around. She will be 20 years old next August; we hope we can celebrate her big 20! (Random Fact: House cats live in between 9 to 15 years, the oldest living cat is 35 years old. Source: Cat World)
